Merry Christmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas holiday! Kevin, Aubrey and I have been very busy over the past week visiting with family and traveling to Augusta to visit more family. Aubrey has had so much fun hanging out with her Aunts and Uncles...and Cousins. This is such a fun stage as Aubrey is loving her new toys and especially her baby dolls she received for Christmas. I will post more later, but here are a few pics from our Christmas. I will post more as I get some downtime this week....yeah right :)

Santa Clause is coming to town...

Well, actually, he came to our house! Tonight we had our annual Christmas dinner that includes a visit from Jolly old St. Nick! The kids had a blast when Santa came through the door. They were so excited to have "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" read by Santa and then each child got to sit on his lap and tell Santa what they would like for Christmas this year. I do have several photos from the night, but not enough time to load and post right now. I am off to bed, but wanted to let everyone know that Aubrey Kay was not having it! She got so mad and cried when we tried to put her on his lap. We did, however, get the photo of her screaming red-faced on his lap that will forever haunt her! I am so bad...I love that photo. I know, enough of a tease. I will try to post it tomorrow for you!

Kyle & Courtney ~ My Brother & Sis-in-Law

This past Sunday, Courtney had a baby shower in Augusta for her pending arrival, Makenzi. Devin and I traveled there to be with her for the special event. We were also able to throw in a photo shoot, since the one that was supposed to take place at Thanksgiving got rained out!

We are so thrilled to have another addition to the Tedford family this January. Makenzi Leigh is due on January 24. Courtney couldn't be glowing more as she is 33 weeks pregnant and looking great! Love you guys and can't wait to meet my baby niece!

It's Been Awhile

I know that I have really let the blogging slip through the cracks these days. But, I swear I will get back on it once my life is in some kind of order. We have had a chaotic week, as you can probably imagine. The move is taking a toll and the packing seems endless. I know that there is some sort of light at the end of the tunnel since we have already taken three, yes THREE truck/trailer loads of stuff to the new house (shed). But don't worry, we still have plenty more to go. It is amazing what one can accumulate over a six year period....and I am not even a pack rat. I clean out every once in awhile and have even recently had a yard sale! That is all for now because it is time to get back to packing. But, I do have to share a funny photo I took of the first load that Kevin and his Dad took yesterday. I was cracking up when I looked outside and saw this monstrosity. We look like the Beverly Hillbilly's comin' to town with this load. Take a look for yourself.....

Adeline, Emma and Tess

After wrapping up a busy week of shoots, I can 'kind of' see the light at the end of the tunnel. I have been very blessed this year with photography and I am so happy to see my dream take off and really become something. I have just taken my last scheduled shoot of the year and I am looking forward to a break, but I know I will miss it while on a hiatus. I am still booking appointments for 2009, however, I am planning to take the rest of this year off to get our current house packed and to get settled in my in-law's basement until our new house is complete.

With that being said, my final session was with one of my all time favorite families...The Jolley and Foley's! I photographed Emma and Tess a few months ago, when Tess was about 1 month old. She is now 3 months and Emma is 6. We were even able to get cousin Adaline-4 yrs in for some shots to give to Honey and Pap (the Grandparents). These girls are just precious and were awesome sports as we tried to get all three to look in sync. It was pretty funny! The shoot took place at a beautiful new hotel in Madison, GA. I will come there anytime for a shoot because Amici (favorite restaurant of all time) is located in the downtown area. Thanks guys...Enjoy your photos!

Bell Family

The weather in Georgia is surprisingly cold this November. We are used to the temperature being around 70 degrees or so during Thanksgiving, but this year we are experiencing some pretty chilly days! Today was no exception...The Bell Family and I met at Heritage Park in McDonough. Lucky for us, the sun was shining pretty bright by 11 am, so that helped cut the chill of the 34 degree weather! The Bell Family did a fabulous job posing and smiling for the camera. I am used to shooting young children who like to run away from me, so it was kind of nice to have a family actually stay where you need them to for a change! Thank you so much for having me shoot your family photos. I hope you enjoy them!

Knox Family

Isn't it ironic that on the coldest week of the year I have the most shoots scheduled so far! Well, today was no exception as it was another cold one, with a high of only 54 degrees. The Knox's session was at 4 pm, when the sun is just starting to set. Beautiful lighting, I must say! We stayed outside shooting for less than one hour, but that is all we really needed because Hunter and Anna were so easy to work with. Both kids just loved posing for the camera....and I loved every minute! We really could have gotten a ton more shots, but it really was getting cold. I can't wait to come back in the summer when everything is in full bloom. The property they live on is a photographers dream in any season. Thank you so much Knox family!

Elizabeth and Kenzie ~ Clinton Farms

These two beauties were so much fun to hang out with this morning! I took a trip to Villa Rica to visit Elizabeth (22 months) and Kenzie (11 months) at Clinton Farms Nature Preserve. Their Mommy's are best friends and you can tell that the girls hang out with each other often. I could not get enough of both of their beautiful blue eyes. Both girls had very different personalities though. Elizabeth is into exploration and just loves the playground, while Kenzie is a very laid back, hang out kind of gal. Although, that will probably change as soon as she gets her "walk" down! I have to say that I go so many great shots that I decided to post more than usual. Thank you so much for scheduling the shoot and I hope to photograph your families for a long time to come!

Holzman Family ~ High Falls, GA

This evening I had the pleasure of photographing the Holzman family, again. You will recognize them from a few weeks back when we took photos of the family, plus the family dogs. Today we took a trip about 25 miles southbound to a beautiful place called High Falls. The boys (John Walter and Raleigh) had a blast exploring all of the things that the falls had to offer. We got down really close to the water for the shoot. The trees were just beautiful, as it is the perfect time to capture the changing colors. Mom (Emily) wanted to get family shots and I think that we did a great job of that this evening. Thank you again, Holzman family, for having me photograph your family!

Burnham Family ~ Finished!

Please check out http://www.erinkayphotography.smugmug.com/ to see the latest gallery. The Burnham family had so many great shots, I had a hard time narrowing them down. Thank you again for choosing me to photograph your family, and I cannot wait until May, when we get to do it again. Please take a minute to notice Preston's lashes...aren't you ladies jealous!

Happy Halloween 2008!

School Costume

We had a blast this Halloween at Stoney Brook Way. We always have a big group over for trick or treating and a bonfire with smores. This year was especially fun since it will be our last year on Stoney Brook. Aubrey had so much fun hanging out with all of her friends. She was soooo excited to go trick or treating. She hung out in the wagon as we strolled with our big group from house to house, all the while eating a sucker. I am still not sure exactly how many suckers she ate! When we got to a house, she got out and followed all of the big kids up to the door. She even tried to walk in most people's homes. Fortunately, they were pretty understanding. They just thought she was the cutest little ghost in town!
PS- The cheerleading outfit is a photo I took of Aubrey this morning forher school dress up for Halloween. Gooo Dawgs!
