Night Shoot about a month ago...

I have been meaning to put some photos up from the shoot I had with my Photo 102 class. This is one that turned out to be pretty cool. We literally walked around downtown Atlanta visiting the Fox and Varsity before returning the the GA Tech parking deck around 10:30 pm. It was a large group of about 14 people, so we were not scared. Was actually a pretty cool experience and helped me learn a lot about shooting at night....not that I ever plan on doing a session at night, but....whatever!

A baby in a bucket

I have learned that one year olds will make anything a toy. We took advantage of the "cooler" weather tonight and spent some time outside. We took a walk (Aubrey in the wagon), then played in the front yard. Aubrey has been walking more and more and she just loves being in the grass. Kevin was watering our plants with a green bucket and you will see this is what Aubrey turned into a toy. She sat in the bucket for some time peeking her head in and out. Too cute! Who knew that one year olds could be so much fun?

My Sister The Senior!

I did a shoot this evening of my sister, Devin and her boyfriend, Cameron. We did their "Senior Photos." They were super cute and very trendy models! I cannot wait to show off my beautiful sister's entire shoot, but for now here are a couple of shots as a sneak peek! Cameron, you looked great too! :)

erin kay photography

I have a name! I am going to go by erin kay photography. (It is so weird to think of myself as a "photographer".) I am so excited...I have several sessions lined up during the rest of this month.

Erin Kay Photography will be focus mainly on Babies, Children, Families and Seniors (thanks to my sister, Devin). Originally, I was only going to do the children and family thing, but I thought it would be interesting to bring some fun into those usually cheesy, boring senior shots! We will be doing most sessions outdoors, however, I will be happy to shoot inside if that is your preference. I will be getting together a pricing list soon, so stay tuned for that information!

At this time, I will be offering a session fee of $25.00. This will include a free 8x10 and set of 8 wallets, as well as the session time and post processing of photos. Feel free to contact me via email with any questions you may have at ekmckneely@yahoo.com. I look forward to working with you!

*I have included some recent shots from my photography classes as a sort of "proof book".

Aubrey's 1st Birthday "Polka Dot" Party

Since I am on a blogging roll here, I decided to go back and talk about Aubrey's First Birthday Party! I just want to say that we had a wonderful time and appreciate all of the help we received from our friends and family to pull the party off. Aubrey had a blast and even though she won't remember a thing, Mommy will have the photos to prove it! Here are some pictures I wanted to share...

First Steps

This weekend, we had a breakthrough of sorts. I have been getting all disgrunteled (on the inside) about my 12.5 month old daughter not walking yet. This is something that until this weekend had not even been interesting her. She would rather crawl to get what she wants because, lets be honest, it is faster for her! So, this weekend she started becoming more and more brave. She has now come to a point where she is letting go and venturing out into the middle of the living room. Yeah! This new adventure is a joy to watch and as a parent, it is yet another one of those things that makes you both cry and smile at the same time. Now, moving on the the next thing that parents stress about.....

A Fun Sunday in the Sun

Most weekends I have a to do list a mile long. This weekend, I had some things in mind that I wanted to get done, but nothing pressing. So, as I wrote out my trusty "to do" list this morning, I added something different than usual. Amongst the laundry, grocery, and bank, I wrote "Have Fun!" So that is what we did. Kevin blew up the two ring kiddie pool. We set that up in the yard along with Aubrey's sand table and just hung out. Since all of our neighbors are friends and family, we had a few visitors too. Grandpa, Ryley, Devin and Cameron came, as well as, Kyla, Rhiannon and their Mom, Shirley. It was a few hours of fun in the sun. We kept cool with the 6 inches of water that the pool provided and the shade trees in our yard. Aubrey enjoyed splashing around in the pool and then moving over to the sand table to chow down on some sand! The best part was the ice cream pop that Granpa helped Aubrey eat. There is not a better way to spend a Sunday!

Lesson Learned

Heather, Landon and Laura Beth were my subjects for the day Saturday. We had big plans to go to Heritage Park and take some practice pictures. Who knew it was going to be the hottest day of the year? We decided it would be best to just take Laura Beth, since it was so hot outside (this is like 5:15 pm). Heather, Laura Beth and I piled in the car, went to the park, got all set up and after like 5 minutes of being outside, we were all drenched with sweat. Laura Beth's smile quickly faded and we decided that 96 degree weather probably wasn't the best time to be snapping pics of a 15 month old. So, we got in the car and came back to my house and into the wonderful A/C. I didn't realize till we got home that I acutally got some pretty cute shots in that short period of time we were out there. I have included a few from the hottest day in McDonough...EVER!

First Real Shoot - Little Braxton

Today I had the pleasure of doing my first "real" photo shoot with a 16 day old little baby boy named Braxton. He was awake the entire time I was there and was an angel as I positioned and repositioned to try and get the best shot. I hope I did him justice as he is my little photography guinea pig, my project. Lucky him! We did have to take a break for feeding, but once that little belly was full, he was good to go! Thank you so much to Christal and Doug, who are letting me borrow their newborn for my possible photography success! Let me know what you guys think!

The Inevitable

Wow...How time does fly! My baby girl will be ONE tomorrow and I don't know where the time has gone. I am thinking back on that Monday morning (May 14, 2007) and I can remember that day like it was yesterday. On that day I became a Mother. It has been the most challenging and rewarding job I have ever taken on. Aubrey has been a blessing and I cherish everyday that we are able to spend with her. Happy Birthday Aubrey Kay!
